Chief Scientist at Baidu Research
Andrew Ng was Chief Scientist at Baidu. He resigned to allow the company to expand its AI research and augmented reality research. Ng is an artificial Intelligence researcher and co-founder at Coursera. Ng has worked previously for Google's Brain Project, where he helped computers recognize images of cats. Ng is an expert on artificial intelligence and you can find his publications list on his Stanford University webpage. His company has started to integrate advertisements into WeChat.
Landing AI's co-founder
Andrew Ng, a British-born American computer scientist who is also a technology entrepreneur and specializes in machine intelligence, was born in America. Before founding Landing AI he was also co-founder of Google Brain and helped to build the Artificial Intelligence Group (Baidu) into a large team of thousands. Andrew Ng is a former employee of some of the biggest companies around, including Airbnb, Twitter and Facebook. Landing AI was Ng's first startup. It is still the top AI company worldwide.
Author of over 100 research paper
Andrew Ng is an engineer and computer scientist. He is fascinated by deep learning or how machines can learn through data. He is one of the founding members of Google Brain, which created massively parallel deep-learning algorithms. The project's results, such as the famous "Google cat," were made possible by a massive neural network trained to identify cats in YouTube videos. Ng continues his research today, with applications in computer vision as well as speech.

AI fund's founder
Andrew Ng is an important computer scientist and a leading authority in artificial intelligence. He led efforts to make deep-learning more accessible and democratised. Fast Company and Time magazine awarded Ng as one the world's most innovative people. Ng created his own AI fund, and invested in startups to assist them with developing AI technology. This fund aims to help startups and small teams develop innovative AI solutions for everyday problems.
FAQ
Which AI technology do you believe will impact your job?
AI will eradicate certain jobs. This includes drivers of trucks, taxi drivers, cashiers and fast food workers.
AI will create new jobs. This includes those who are data scientists and analysts, project managers or product designers, as also marketing specialists.
AI will simplify current jobs. This includes accountants, lawyers as well doctors, nurses, teachers, and engineers.
AI will make jobs easier. This includes jobs like salespeople, customer support representatives, and call center, agents.
Who invented AI?
Alan Turing
Turing was first born in 1912. His father was a clergyman, and his mother was a nurse. He excelled in mathematics at school but was depressed when he was rejected by Cambridge University. He discovered chess and won several tournaments. After World War II, he was employed at Bletchley Park in Britain, where he cracked German codes.
He died in 1954.
John McCarthy
McCarthy was born 1928. Before joining MIT, he studied mathematics at Princeton University. The LISP programming language was developed there. He had laid the foundations to modern AI by 1957.
He died on November 11, 2011.
What is the role of AI?
Basic computing principles are necessary to understand how AI works.
Computers save information in memory. Computers interpret coded programs to process information. The code tells the computer what it should do next.
An algorithm is a sequence of instructions that instructs the computer to do a particular task. These algorithms are often written using code.
An algorithm is a recipe. A recipe might contain ingredients and steps. Each step represents a different instruction. A step might be "add water to a pot" or "heat the pan until boiling."
Which countries are currently leading the AI market, and why?
China leads the global Artificial Intelligence market with more than $2 billion in revenue generated in 2018. China's AI industry is led by Baidu, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., Tencent Holdings Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., and Xiaomi Technology Inc.
China's government is heavily involved in the development and deployment of AI. Many research centers have been set up by the Chinese government to improve AI capabilities. These centers include the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition and State Key Lab of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems.
China also hosts some of the most important companies worldwide, including Tencent, Baidu and Tencent. These companies are all actively developing their own AI solutions.
India is another country where significant progress has been made in the development of AI technology and related technologies. India's government is currently focusing its efforts on developing a robust AI ecosystem.
